There's still a couple images I wanted to finish before I get started on the requests and other projects, and with classes taking up a lot of my time, it will probably be a short while before I really get to anything new. Luckily, I have no class tonight, so that gives me a chance to do some catching up!
Anyways, here is Mystique from X-Men with some extra padding! I drew her after acquiring a print of her from Mike Meyhew at a comic book convention in Long Beach, CA last year. The lineart was drawn shortly after, and I've finally given it some color. Keeping with Meyhew's depictions of her, I drew Mystique in the outfit he usually depicts her in as opposed to her traditional white dress. I also kept the overall image very simple: just her, and a smoking gun in her hand.
At one point I wanted to draw Magneto or some other villain behind her, but felt it wouldn't quite add anything besides a distraction.
The lines are a bit messy, a result of mistakes during the inking process and rather rough paper. I tried to fix what I could without redrawing the whole thing digitally. The lines are thicker than I usually draw, but that's mainly because I drew her rather small for some reason.
Best wishes,
Chris
